Climate Change Australia is a community group based in the Port Macquarie Hastings local government area on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales. We formed in 2007 in response to concerns about local climate change inaction.
As a non-party-political community group, we endorse policies that are serious about tackling climate change and seek safe climate outcomes for the future of our beautiful region.
What we do
We have been involved in many events and campaigns in recent years:
- lobbying Port Macquarie Hastings Council to keep its Climate Change Response Policy and declare a ‘climate emergency’
- promoting and supporting climate change events, campaigns, activities and positive developments in our region
- holding events that support climate action and bring like-minded community members together
- lobbying candidates during elections to adopt climate-friendly policies and informing the community which candidates are serious about climate action.
